The photos on this page show a wallpaper that was installed over "unprimed" flat latex wall paint. The moisture from the wallpaper glue infiltrated through the layer of latex paint to the sheetrock and caused the paint to release its bond to the sheetrock. As a close inspection of the photos reveal, the wallpaper is literally falling off the walls!! In fact, when we removed the falling wallpaper to install new wallpaper, the released paint was stuck to the back of the wallpaper!! The homeowner said that when she had the wallpaper installed, the installer did not mention anything about priming the walls to prevent this from happening. If the installer had used a penetrating, wall protecting primer, the homeowner would not have had the expense of new wallpaper and installation after just one year!! |

Every wallpaper manufacturer specifies that in order to install their product properly the wall must first be primed with a "good quality primer". If you happen to have any complaint about the wallcovering product, it will always come back to the question: "Did you prime the wall with a good quality primer?" |

Using the proper wall primers for the particular wall conditions encountered can make the difference between an excellent installation and a seam-popping, drywall ripping fiasco. They insure an excellent installation and that means the wallpaper is: -Well adhered. -All seams stay tight for the duration of the job. -REMOVAL IS ACHIEVED WITH MINIMAL WALL DAMAGE. |
