OUR HISTORY... The Mount Washington Valley Theatre Company was founded in 1970 by a group of Dartmouth College graduates, including Director John Sayles and Actor Gordon Clapp, who lived in Mt. Washington Valley after graduation. In 1974, the theatre obtained nonprofit status, but struggled financially for many years with a varied repertory format.
In 1982, the Company changed the format to musical theatre, and for the past 24 years, the theatre has grown and attracted professional actors, directors, and crew from across the country to its stage at the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse. 2005 marks the Company's 35th year of production.
