Ajahn Brahmavamso was born in London in 1951. HIs interest in Buddhism flourished while he was studying Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University. After completing his degree and teaching for a year, he traveled to Thailand to become a monk. He become a monk at the age of 23 and spent 9 years studying and training in the forest meditation tradition under Venerable Ajahn Chah.
In 1983, he was invited to set up the Bodhinyana Monastery in Western Australia and is now the abbot there. |
