Absolute Beginner's Yoga: This is where you should be if you have NEVER taken a yoga class! Each class will begin with a slow warm-up & gentle stretching. We emphasize proper breathing & coordinating breath with movement. We'll learn a variety of lying mat poses & simple standing poses. Portions of our routine are repeated from week to week, giving you the opportunity to relax into movements while you are becoming more proficient with them.
Beginning/Continuing Yoga: These classes are designed for those students who have begun their exploration of yoga and would like to learn more challenging poses. Please join us IF you have learned proper breathing techniques which encourage your muscles to stop gripping, allowing your body to relax into postures. In these classes we cover more complicated mat poses, abdominal and core training, and basic standing postures. As various poses are mastered (according to YOUR individual ability), |

you will grow in awareness OF your body, in appreciation FOR your body, and in comfortableness IN your body. This, in turn, results in a more centered and calm state of consciousness.
Intermediate Yoga: We progress to a study and practice of alignment and form in more complicated poses. This level is for those students who have had previous yoga training of AT LEAST SIX MONTHS. (NO novices, please!) We will build on the foundation established in Beginning/Continuing Classes. More challenging standing and floor postures, a variety of balancing poses, and several yogic breathing exercises will be presented and practiced. We will also begin to work with backbends and inversions. |

PowerFlow Yoga: PowerFlow Yoga is a challenging and vigorous Hatha Yoga that is based on the Ashtanga system. Throughout the practice, each posture flows into the next smoothly and without pause. Body heat builds up, creating sweat and flexibility. Complex poses are made accessible through teaching and practice of their components, but the class focus is on continuous motion rather than on remaining in each individual pose. Therefore, an absolute prerequisite is prior yoga training with a STRONG emphasis on form and alignment.
**For students' safety and teacher's peace of mind: I reserve the right to request any student to commit to a different class level**
