“I will have to live with the fact that I was shot at school, the one place I’m supposed to be safe.”- Thurston student Elizabeth McKenzie
School shooting returned with a vengeance in March, 2005 when student Jeff Weise went on a killing spree at Red Lake High in Minnesota. It was the nation's worst such incident since Columbine, but not the only one. While media attention was focused on 9-11, Iraq, politics and celebrity trials, school violence continued in every corner of the world claiming over 400 victims globally in the past five years. Until now, no one has effectively answered the question, “Why?”

"The Shooting Game" is an in-depth study of 85 school shooters with a special focus on one particular event and one unique young killer. Among all school shooters, 15-year old Kip Kinkel was the only one who also murdered both his parents. In addition, he wounded the highest number of individuals by gunfire in any student rampage until it was matched at Columbine.
