Newcomer's a winner in District 96 Florida House race By Sallie James Staff Writer Sun-Sentinel

Ari Abraham Porth, a political newcomer who bombarded voters with campaign literature this past week, soundly defeated Mark Weissman in Tuesday's Democratic primary for the District 96 state House seat.

Porth, 34, an assistant state attorney who heads the Broward Truancy Intervention program, was exuberant.
A Nova Southeastern Law School graduate, Porth said his work with the public, with schools, and the legal system qualified him for the job.

"I like what [Porth] said," said Tamarac resident Julia Lindenbaum, 79.

Voters Abe and Toby Rosenblum, both 84, also cast ballots for Porth. "I like the way he speaks," Toby Rosenblum said.

FloridaDemocrat.com congratulates Ari A. Porth on his election as the Democratic nominee.
