Comparing traditional phone systems to VoIP http://Vphones.net
Q:What is VoIP and why use it?
A:For over a decade now the prospect of using the internet to carry voice calls has been ‘next years technology’. Although there has not yet been any revolution in the way we route our phone calls, a number of enabling technologies, services and providers such as Vphones, are now in place which can finally deliver a reliable, high-quality Voip (Voice over Internet Protocol) solution at very low cost. Bottom line: If your on the internet and you can make a phone call of equall or even higher quality to Europe or Japan through what is essentially the same connection, and for almost FREE, why would you pay a phone company 25%, 50% or even 150% more for the exact same call?

Q:Why not just keep using my regular long distance provider for my long distance and International calls?
A:Most businesses and individuals who are serious internet users now have un-timed and effectively un-limited connection to the internet. Users can spend all day downloading data from the other side of the world at no added cost. And yet, when those same users make a phone call they are charged by the minute, whether the call is local, national or international. In practice the data may well travel over exactly the same route, on the same wires, owned by the same people. Only the billing mechanism and price is different. Vphones thinks it would be better for the end user if the telephone call went with the internet traffic with the attendant price saving!

Q:What about Voip for business and home office use?
A:Another attractive application for many businesses would be to connect home workers and sub-offices. The only on-going cost at each site would be the charge for an always-on internet connection. The remote sites will use the internet connection to log-in to the main office network and also run their telephones as extensions to the main office phone system.

Q:Are Voip telephones expensive and complicated?
A:Not at all! With the Vphones, you can simply replace your existing, expensive telephone systems and equipment that most companies require and many homes utilize, with an extremely affordable and cost-effective Vphone. The idea is to use existing computer hardware such as servers and Ethernet cabling to handle telephone traffic. Telephone system functions such as call-transfer and hold will be handled by our software and telephone devices by just plugging into a network point instead of dedicated wiring. All you have to do is plug the Vphone into your computer's USB port and start saving HUGE on your local and National long distance and international long distance calls. International calls can be placed for as low as just 1 or 2 cents per minute and low monthly rate plans are also available!
