This was a diningroom in a 100 year old farmhouse. The owner had removed the mantle and hearth frame and wanted to cover over where the old woodstove had been. The existing wallpaper was removed, a plaster product was used to cover the lath and then the chair rail was installed. The walls were then lined with a bridging liner. The paper on the upper half is a vinyl print. Below the chair rail is a paper called Lincrusta, a textured pulp paper. It was primed and then painted the same color as the chair rail and trim moldings. Then a coat of pale green was applied, and wiped off, leaving the just a sheen of the green on the raised part of the paper, but the true color in the grooves. The ceiling was later papered with Anaglypta. |

It truly changed this room from dark and grungy to a beautiful, bright formal dining room. |
