Most of the Palestinians people active between 1987 to 1993 in attacks on armed Israeli troops in the occupied territories of Palestine. Their campaign for self-determination included stone throwing. The uprising began Dec 1987 in the Gaza Strip. Rumors that a fatal deliberated traffic collision had been caused by Israeli security service agents in retaliation for the stabbing of an Israeli the previous week led to demonstrations by teenagers armed with slingshots. It subsequently spread, despite attempts at repression. Some 1,300 Palestinians were Martyred and 80 Israelis were killed in the uprising up to the end of 1991. Many Palestinian private homes were dynamited by military order, under a still-valid British emergency regulation of 1946 . The number of soldiers on duty on the West Bank at the beginning of 1989 was said to be more than three times the number needed to conquer it during the Six Day War.http://palestine-info.info |

The visit of Sabra and Shatela terrorist Ariel Sharon (Israeli opposition Likud party leader) to Haram al-Sharif of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound caused a lot of tension and anger to the Palestinian worshippers who tried not to allow Sharon from entering the Mosque , and pushed him to short-cut his tour and return back by throwing stones on him and on his security which was more then few hundreds . Israeli riot police and Sharon security clashed with the protested Palestinian and left a big number of them injured .
Sabra and Shatela terrorist Ariel Sharon took this tour to the Al-Aqsa complex to demonstrate that Israel is in control and to give a message to the Palestinian and the Islamic world that Israel will never give back Al-Aqsa Mosque to them and that this is a holy area to Jews where they claim that it has been build on the place of there holy 'Soliman Temple' and they will work to demolish Al-Aqsa. h |
